Migration of Business Name Registration Services

Since our opening in 1998, the Brampton Small Business Enterprise Centre has provided electronic access to, and customer service support for, provincial government business name registration.

This has been a useful and complementary part of the full scope of services that the Enterprise Centre offers to new and expanding businesses, which includes information resources, guidance, consultations, seminars/workshops, business plan reviews and professional development events.

The OBC terminals are being phased out because they are running on old, obsolete technology, and the government is hoping to drive the majority of registrations to its online channel through ServiceOntario.  Migration of all business registration processes into provincial service, giving clients the choice of:

1.   On-line via www.serviceontario.ca

     Already available, 24 hours a day, seven days a week

2.  In person at provincial Service Ontario Offices

                       Nearby office located at 7765 Hurontario St., Brampton

We will work with our clients and community partners to make this service migration as seamless as possible, and will continue to provide our clients the highest level of customer service regarding business name registration, including:

  • Guidance and support with clients’ general questions about business start up and registration;
  • A free, weekly, drop-in tutorial on how to register a business name;

 WIN A BUSINESS START-UP PACKAGE!

Attention Canadian entrepreneurs!

If you own or operate a small business in Canada you probably are aware that there are almost no grants and loans available to businesses. Money, one of the most important things start-ups need, usually comes from savings, family or friends.

For many years at CanadaOne we have wished we could do more to help entrepreneurs access grants or loans. Well, we can't change the government. What we can – and have – done is to create a fun contest with a terrific grand prize.

Between April 4 and June 18, 2008 we are inviting you* to tell us why you think your start-up or growth business plan is going to succeed. We want to know what is great about your business. We want to hear about your passion for starting or running a business in Canada.
